About the Artwork of Walker’s Pawtery |

|
Faith Walker is a biologist from Flagstaff, Arizona, with a Ph.D. in conservation genetics. Since childhood, she has collected plaster casts of animal footprints in nature. Her research in wild areas of Australia, Africa, and North America has enabled her to find footprints of animals ranging from kangaroos to grizzly bears. In 2006 she began making pottery (“Pawtery”) featuring these prints. Walker’s handmade pawtery is wheel-thrown, fired to 2500° F, and is food-safe, oven-proof, and microwavable. Each piece is a celebration of its respective wild creature, crafted into a functional design. Pawtery is made to order: you select the piece, print, and glaze. We invite you to choose a wild animal's print, or to send us your pet's paw print. Pawtery is regularly donated to non-profits for fundraisers, and 10% of all sales go to support conservation efforts. |
